Networking Opportunities

Member businesses and their employees receive additional benefits for being part of the Ames Chamber including networking and professional development opportunities, social activities, and more.

Ambassador Program
Attend ribbon cuttings and other special events on behalf of the Chamber. (Fee)


Annual Event
Annual meeting for Ames Chamber and AEDC membership held in the first quarter of the year. This is a great chance to network with over 450 members. (Fee)


Business After Hours
These evening receptions are hosted monthly by member businesses as a great opportunity to network with an average attendance of 250 members and guests. Reservations required for sponsorship. (hosting/sponsorship fee)


Business at Breakfast
A monthly morning event to help you connect with other business people in an informal setting and promote your business. This program is purposely limited to the first 20 registrants to give each business a good share of time, and attendees are encouraged to distribute promotional brochures, business cards and other marketing materials. There is no fee to attend. (hosting/sponsorship fee)


Committee Involvement
All employees of member businesses are encouraged to get involved on a committee anytime during the year. Committees include Membership, Government Affairs, Business Improvement, and Education Connections. Contact the Chamber office for more information.


Golf Day
18 hole best-shot event where networking and fun are the order of the day. Held annually on the third Friday in May. (Fee for golfers & Sponsorship Fee)

New Member Reception
Quarterly luncheon to welcome new members and introduce them to Chamber staff, sponsors and volunteers. (hosting/sponsorship fee)


Past Chairs' Steak Fry - Thrill of the Grill
Hundreds of members come to grill their own steaks and enjoy dinner with new and old friends. Held on the Tuesday after Labor Day. (Fee to attend & sponsorships)
 

Speed Networking
Quarterly gathering to meet other members and promote your business in a fast, high-energy environment. Make several contacts in just a couple hours of pure fun. (hosting/sponsorship fees)


Young Professionals of Ames (YPA)
YPA is open to individuals ages 21-40 who want to get involved in the community, improve leadership skills and take advantage of professional development opportunities. (Discounted membership fee for Chamber member employees)
