Roles of Partners
Communication between Partner contacts and PIE Coordinator and success of this program is the primary responsibility of School and Community Partners.
Community Partner Contact
Appoint and direct a Community Partner contact in your business or organization. This Community Partner contact should:
- Serve as a member of the Ames Chamber of Commerce Education Connections committee.
- Act as point of contact for potential and current Partners (volunteers) in your business or organization.
- Work with PIE Coordinators and School Partner contact to develop Partnership Plan.
- Coordinate meetings with PIE Committee (School contact, Community contact, and PIE Coordinators).
- Keep the School Partner informed of Community Partner activities and contributions.
- Maintain regular communication with all your Partners (volunteers) within the organization.
- Submit photos and articles of successful Partnerships for Ames Chamber of Commerce publications.
- Nominate exceptional Partnerships for annual Salute to Educator Partnership awards.
School Partner Principal/Assistant Principal
Appoint and direct a School Partner contact in your school. This School Partner contact should:
- Serve as a member of the Ames Chamber of Commerce Education Connections committee.
- Direct the communication of school needs.
- Work with PIE Coordinators and Community Partner contact to develop Partnership Plan.
- Strengthen relationships with Community Partner(s).
- Maintain records of in-kind and cash contributions as well as time and activity contributions to your school from the Community Partner(s) and submit to the Ames Chamber of Commerce at the end of school year.
- Invite Community Partners to school functions and recognition events.
- Visibly promote and support Community Partners in your school.
- Thank Community Partners both publicly and privately.
PIE Coordinators (Chamber Staff)
- Act as point of contact for potential and current Community Partners.
- Responsible for recruitment of Community Partners, making initial contact, and facilitating meetings with potential Partners or Sponsor donors that may meet specific school needs.
- Facilitate initial Community/School Partner meeting, training, and development of Partnership Plan.
- Maintain regular communication with all Partner contacts.
- Visit one activity of each Community/School Partner each year.
- Compile photos and articles for Ames Chamber of Commerce marketing.
- Send regular press releases and communication showcasing success of PIE and new Partners.
- Keep up-to-date records of current Partners, donations, and activity logs.
- Organize Salute to Educators.
- Deliver New Teacher Welcome gifts.
- Work with Education Connections Committee to award Salute to Educator Partnership awards.
