Chamber Committees Provide Opportunities To Get Involved

Your input, participation and ideas are needed at the Chamber!

The Chamber's task of working to improve the long-term economic vitality of its members and the community is accomplished through the ideas and projects that begin in committees of the Chamber. Each committee focuses on a different aspect of the community that affects business, as you can see by their goal descriptions below.

 

Community Development

Board Liaison: Vanessa Baker - Latimer (City of Ames)

 

Government Affairs

 

Board Liaison: Matt Converse (Converse Conditioned Air)

Government Affairs Committee

Meeting time: First Thursday of odd-numbered months at 12:00 pm. Mission: To identify and research state issues that affect business, recommend and take action through informed positions and communication with state legislators.

Mission: To promote unity in the business community and encourage Chamber involvement through active, visible participation as goodwill messengers to local businesses.

 

Membership

Board Liaison: Nate Easter (Iowa State University Research Park)

Membership Committee

Meeting time: Typically the membership committee meets the first Thursday of each  month at 8:00 am to review current programs and resource offerings, analyze prospective member businesses, discuss Ambassador roles and responsibilites and review upcoming ribbon cuttings.

Mission: To promote unity in the business community and encourage Chamber involvement through active, visible participation as goodwill messengers to local businesses.
