City of Ames: The City of Ames offers municipal utilities that are set up through their website. Utilities can be paid online or in the mail. The Ames City Council is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment to all residents! They strive to provide a diverse, inclusive community where all residents are put in the best position to succeed! The Ames police department is dedicated to providing a safe community for all Ames residents. They offer a variety of community programs and outreach that can be found on their website! Story County, Iowa: Story County is led by its Board of Supervisors. The Board focuses on a number of tasks such as economic development, policy administration, tax levy, and many more. Story County is dedicated to offering ample polling locations for its residents. Story County has upwards of 40 voting locations. Neighborhoods: Whether you live within city limits, or in a small community just outside of Ames, we offer a diverse spread of housing opportunities in our community. Apartments: Ames has many different outstanding apartment complexes to choose from. Between McFarland Clinic and Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames offers world class medical care to its residents. McFarland Clinic is the largest physician-owned specialty- clinic in the state. Over the course of one year, their staff of over 280 providers and 1000 assistants see over one million patient visits. Mary Greeley Medical Center offers a wide range of care from cancer treatment, orthopedics, surgical services, cardiac care, and a plethora of other treatment services.



There are a number of great public transportation systems offered to residents in Story County! Cyride offers a low rate public bus route that can take you anywhere in the city of Ames. There is also an airport shuttle that is provided to residents from  Ames, Boone, Nevada, and Story City to the Des Moines International Airport. For more information visit:
