Tell us about your business and what you do.:
I am the General Manager of two Hart Family Hotel properties in Ames, the Sleep Inn & Suites and our recently opened Comfort Inn & Suites. For business or pleasure, at our hotels, we want to be a home away from home. We are passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality and helping our guests make their stay in Ames a memorable one.
How long have you been a Chamber Ambassador?
Why do you serve as an Ambassador?
I love meeting new people and getting to know their stories. Living and working in Ames is such an exciting privilege. Each day is an opportunity to meet someone new, learn from who they are and what they do. Our whole lives are about connecting with others. The Ambassador program is full of people who share the same passion for Ames and the people here.
How else are you involved in the community?
As a Chamber Ambassador I serve on the Community Outreach, New Member and the Mentor/Engagement Committees. Additionally, I am on the Board of Directors for the Ames Visitors and Conventions Bureau.
What would you tell someone considering becoming a Chamber Ambassador or Member?
For anyone who is wanting to meet new people but are nervous, shy or not sure where to start.... close your eyes and jump in with both feet! Its perfect. We are a team here and everyone is so welcoming and will immediately put you at ease. For those that are unsure of the time commitment? It's flexible so it will fit with anyone's schedule.
What's one of the most exciting things you see happening in Ames/Story County today?
The growth in Ames and Story County is so fun to watch. I love seeing people come to Ames to visit and then move here. I love seeing the ISU Students graduating, working here and making Ames home. I love seeing the new businesses development coming to Ames and getting a chance to be apart of all the exciting events that Ames hosts throughout the year. There is always something to do and see here.
Anything else you'd like to share?
My husband and I have two boys who graduated from Iowa State University. They left us home with the puppies "they had to have" and "promised they'd take care of!" If you see the dogs out taking us for a walk, please be sure to stop us to say HI! We would love to meet you!
