Tell us about your business and what you do.:
I am a Private Banker at First National Bank, where I promote our First Point program. We work with customers that have a higher net worth, and make Banking very experiential! We host client events, educational opportunities and prospect with potential customers within our community. I’m in the Relationship Business!

How long have you been a Chamber Ambassador?
I’ve been an Ambassador for nearly 20 years

Why do you serve as an Ambassador?
Making new connections and seeing community-minded people from various industries is exciting. Our community has so much to offer, and engaging with new businesses and staff or reconnecting with those that have been around for decades is exciting!

How else are you involved in the community?
I’ve served on various non-profit Boards over 20+ years here. I am currently Co-Chair of the Iowa Special Olympics Summer Games and Vice President of the Ames Foundation, but I’ve also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Heartland Senior Services, Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames Morning Rotary and the Gilbert Education Foundation.

What would you tell someone considering becoming a Chamber Ambassador or Member?
The benefits of a membership (for anything) is only as effective as what you put into it. The Ames Chamber of Commerce is a conduit to making many business and personal connections throughout Ames and Story County, but also becoming a part of Community! We are a smaller community that plays big when thinking about culture, sports, arts and entertainment… the list goes on. Having Iowa State University in our own backyard enhances our culture and enriches our community even further.

Anything else you'd like to share?
Embrace our community! Become involved and be a part of building relationships through various opportunities the Ames Chamber of Commerce has to offer! You’ll be glad you did!
