Community Job Board Expansion – WorkInBooneIA.com

2/19/2021

The City of Boone and the Ames Economic Development Commission (AEDC) are pleased to announce new WorkInBooneIA.com community job board. This free service allows job seekers to view and apply to the variety of jobs located in Boone and surrounding areas. Not only does the job board appeal to those looking for a new career, but it also enables employers large and small to post job opportunities at no cost to them or their company.

“This is a long-needed step to provide a free community-based resource to all our local employers and residents within the City of Boone though our new partnership with AEDC,” said Boone Councilman Greg Piklapp, Chair of the Economic Development Committee. “Helping both employers in searching for quality people to add to their workforce and residents looking for that new job adventure. Just connecting a few people at a time to new local jobs can have a strong positive impact to the community for years to come.”

The job board consists of employment across all spectrums: full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities alike. Job seekers are able to create a free account, where they can choose to post their resume, contact, and employment information for employers. After their profile is completed, users can search for jobs and opportunities, as well as receive email notifications regarding new job postings that match their preferences.

“We are pleased to expand the current WorkInAmes.com job board to include our neighbors in Boone,” said Dan Culhane, President and CEO of the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission. “The partnership between our communities is essential to enhancing our market and supporting business in our region. We are confident this initiative will be a vital resource for employers and job seekers in the years to come.”

The job board is driven by the recent contract between the Ames Economic Development Commission and the City of Boone. The contract will be reviewed annually by the Boone City Council, with the AEDC providing quarterly updates to the City on progress and activity. The AEDC, which also holds contracts with the City of Ames, City of Huxley, City of Story City, Iowa State University Research Park, Nevada Economic Development Council, and Story County consists of 14 personnel that, combined, have over 60 years of economic and community development experience.
